David Lawson is a writer, performer, director, and teacher.
Lawson performs one-man shows all around New York City and across the country. His show Nazis and Me is about his encounters with hate groups.
Lawson's latest one-man show was Horror Helps.
Which was named among
"the best Halloween theater in 2024"
by Time Out New York and recieved a positive review from Thinking Theater NYC.
Lawson performed in the
Comedy Central sketch "The Rage Restaurant."
Since March 2014 Lawson has hosted the monthly Astoria Bookshop Storytelling Show, a free storytelling open mic the first Thursday of each month. The show was recently profiled by HarlemView and has been featured in the New York Times.
Lawson has taught storytelling classes at Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning
and Queens Theatre.
Lawson has taught workshops where students learn to write and perform one-person shows.
Lawson has performed on the popular storytelling podcast RISK!
